Wendy Wollenberg of NBCChicago reported that Big Bowl restaurants are introducing a new collection of desserts after hiring a proeminent pastry chef. This is the link to her article:

Big Bowl, owned and operated by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises since 2005, offers a wide selection of Chinese and Thai dishes. Along with P.F. Chang, Stir Crazy and Benihana, they are credited for elevating and popularizing Asian cuisine in the US. While traditional family run Chinese restaurants have been part of the American landscape for a while, these chains have introduced us to a wider variety of far-eastern Asian cooking: Vietnamese, Mongolian, Japanese and Thai.
Big Bowl's menu includes an assortment of 18 appetizers and 26 dinners but their speciality remains the "group share menu" and the "stir fry bar". Pricing has increased by almost $1 per item since 2006 which makes it a 2.9-3.4% annual price increase on a dinner or, 6.8- 11.8% annual increase for an average appetizer. A dinner for two could likely cost $70-$75, tax and tip included, but it is well worth it.
Regardless of what I have tried at Big Bowl, everything has been consistently delicious. I would recommend you to try their Shanghai Tang cocktail ($7.95) - a light blend of hibiscus tea, lemonade and Ketle One - chicken satay appetizer ($4.75) and the flagrant Thai Basil Shrimp for $13.95 - with ginger, Thai basil and coconut lemon sauce.

If you visit Metromix' website, you'll find that 18 people have found that the ambiance, the food, the service and the total value are a 5 star. On Yelp's website, 35 people voted a 3 1/2 stars only. Main complaints evolved around pricing, not being authentically Chinese and no true vegetarian/vegan option because they use chicken stock.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting with deep soothing shades of red, orange and brown hues. Tall drapery from the ceiling make it convenient to quickly partition the dining room for semi-private parties.
